Athena

Name: Athena
Nickname:  Gorgeous
Breed: Calico
Age: 1 year (Birthday: March 22, 2012)
Favorite Activity: Playing chase throughout the house.
Favorite Thing: My toy that has a ball in it that I can spin over and over again.
Her Ideal Day: Reaching up to Daddy to get his attention, playing chase through the house, snuggling up and under covers to sleep, and giving kisses to Mommy.
Least Favorite Thing: Sometimes I don't want Mommy to clean my eye.
Bad Habit:  On those days I don't want Mommy to clean  my eye, I like to play hide-and-seek.  I normally come out victorious!
Quirk: When I get really excited and play by myself, I tend to let out these really cute squeaky noises that my mommy says sounds like a little chipmunk.

History of Athena pre-forever home: Apparently a family on post had moved and purposely left their pregnant cat behind.  The cat had her babies: all 5.  A neighbor had seen/understood the whole situation and took them in for a few days.  Later they took the momma and her 5 fresh kittens to the pound.  I was one of those kittens.

Foster Information: Shortly after I began to open my eyes as a kitten, my right eye became very infected and irritated.  My eye became so swollen that my foster mom couldn't find my eyeball anymore.  We were all scared that I might end up losing my eye.  Thankfully though, with medicinal eyedrops, it cleared it up!  Now I only have a slight deformity in that eye but my mommy thinks I am gorgeous just the way I am and she is so helps me keep it clean everyday.
This is a picture of about how bad my eye got.

How Athena came to join us:  My foster mommy (now forever mommy) would take me to and from Petsmart (where my rescue tried to adopt out kitties) everyday (dropping me off in the morning and picking me up in the evening) for months, trying to get me adopted.  I would ride would ride with mommy in the driver's seat all wrapped up in my blanket.  After months of being there and no one wanting me to be a part of their family, my foster mommy decided that she couldn't lie to herself anymore...I was already apart of a family...her family.
