Name: Nigel
Nickname: "Nigelica," "Fluffy Bunny," and "Ninja Kitty"
Breed: All Mommy and Daddy know is that I am a DMH.
Age: 2 years old
Favorite Activity: Roughhousing with Horatio
Ideal Day: Get all the pets I want, all the meat I want, and chase Horatio around the house.
While being Fostered: I was so terrified at first. I would only come out to play when Daddy was sitting in one place for a long enough time that I felt I could trust him. I love pets and have a crazy purr machine in my cute body. I was only around Daddy for the first couple of months (my Momma, who I hadn't met yet, was still in another state). When they finally were able to be together again I got to meet everyone...and I mean EVERYONE! So many fluffy friends! I had to stay apart from them for the first couple of days until my snap test was able to be completed (it was through a glass door so we could still see each other). Then when the fantastic news came back (all negative!!), I was able to further inspect the house and all the furry residents. Mommy and Daddy thought I would be shy and hide away from the other kitties, but no, I was super laid back and curiously inspected the whole house. Horatio followed me the whole inspection... with his nose basically in my butt. He obviously had a bro-mance going on. As soon as my inspection was complete, I accepted Horatio's playful challenge to wrestle.
Least Favorite Thing: New people. It took me months to come out of my shell and walk around with everyone else while Mommy and Daddy were home. I normally would just get scared and run off if I saw someone walking. So new people are just scary... however, I have improved so much.
Bad Habit: I have picked up on Horatio's terrorizing of Kramer. However, I do it less often and less horrific.
Quirk: I am a very calm kitty, even when freaking out...Mommy and Daddy think it's really cute and funny. I also like to turn my purr machine on high and hop in bed when Mommy and Daddy are fast asleep. I want pets so I will go up to their faces (mostly Mom's face) and purr loudly while very lightly tapping them on the face or hand (really whatever is exposed) until I get my pets.
Funny Thing I Have Done: When Daddy and Mommy first moved into their new house I was so incredibly scared. So much that I shoved myself into a tiny opening in the dry wall. Mommy and Daddy had to work at it for a while before they were finally able to get me out. Then, soon after I was out of that predicament I started eyeballing the vent to the indoor grill. Momma said to Daddy, "Honey, I think he might try and jump up it." Daddy: "No, it's way too high for him to reach." As soon as he said that I jumped! Jumped up INTO the vent that led to the outside. Once again, I was stuck. Mommy and Daddy had to work for a long time, again, to help me get out of that. I was a mess. I bet Mommy and Daddy are glad those "scaredy cat" days are gone.
(This is what I looked like when I was adopted into the family. I used to have a super cute grey and black striped tail... it is all black now.)
My history pre-forever home: My tiny kitten memories were very scary. When my daddy first saw me I was eating a smashed Twinkie off the ground at a Kangaroo gas station. He also saw me getting beat up by the adult male cat there who's territory I was obviously invading. I was alone, scared, and so hungry. It took Daddy a couple of weeks to try and catch me...I was so frightened of humans. One day he enticed me with Lunchables meat. I came close enough and he scooped me up and tossed me in his car. I was catnapped!

How I became a part of the family: Mommy and Daddy tried to find me a forever home but with no luck. Honestly, they didn't try too hard. I mean, I'm cute, cuddly, have super soft fur, and most of all...I'm really the only friend Horatio has. Once they realized that, they couldn't take away Horatio's only friend. No other kitty lets him roughhouse with them and rip mouthfuls of fur out of their body. So my place in this family was confirmed.
