Kramer

Name: Kramer
Nickname: Krim-Kram-Jim-Jam
Breed: Mommy and Daddy think I'm a mixture of Tabby and Siamese
Age: (estimated) 10 years old
Rank in Household: Omega
Favorite Activity: I like to run around the house like someone/something is chasing me - all while meowing like those 'pretend' demon chasers will soon catch me.
Favorite Thing: Fresh water!  It's not fresh unless I see you pour it.
Ideal Day: Mommy and Daddy pouring me a cup of water every time they go to the bathroom, endless access to food, and a day away from all the crazy kitties while I just nap and get pets.
Least Favorite Thing: It's more of a 'who'...Horatio.  He loves to chase me as if I am prey at times.  To say I hate this would be an understatement.
Bad Habit:  My food addiction.  I eat when I'm happy, sad, stressed, angry, fussy, or any other emotion a cat can have.  It is a glorious.
Quirk: Mommy and Daddy say I play funny with toys.  It is like an awkward, slow play.  *shrugs*  It's just how I roll.

My history pre-forever home: The humane society Mommy and Daddy adopted me from told them my previous owners who gave me up, did so because they all of a sudden developed cat allergies.  Mommy and Daddy say it is my abandoners' loss and their gain!

This is me the year my forever family adopted me (2008).

How I became a part of this family (from Mommy's perspective):  A couple months after my husband and I got married in 2008, we found out he was soon to deploy.  We figured it would be best if I had a companion during the difficult separation from my love.  So I ventured off to our local humane society.  I found the PERFECT kitten, Boston.  Since my perfect kitten was not neutered yet, I had to wait 2 days until I could pick him up.  I was so excited that I made my husband come on his lunch break with me the next day so he could see just how incredibly perfect this kitten was.  After showing him the kitten, he asked me, "Don't you think it'd be good to get 2 cats so they could bond and not grow up a single cat?  Go pick out another cat."  What a genius idea!  So I immediately started looking around the room for another perfect kitten.  After finding a second super cute kitten, I turned to my husband.  The vision I saw when turning around was a grown man holding this huge adult cat while making the biggest pouting face I had ever seen.  "Look at him!  He's so pretty and loving!  All the volunteers say he's their favorite and super sweet!" he said.  "That's nice, dear," I think was my response.  Then he proceeded to pout while telling me, "I've never had a cat of my own.  They've all been taken away from me."  OH MY!  So all of a sudden it came to this incredibly dramatic point where I, his wife, was left with only two decisions.  I could either be this horrible creature who, once again, crushed his dreams of having a pet of his very own... or I could give in.  After all, it's not we were there for me to get a kitten/s or anything.  So, I reluctantly agreed.  We signed the adoption papers, and since he was already neutered and up to date on his shots, we could take him home.  Since my husband had to return to work, I was the lucky one who got to take the cat home in this tiny cardboard carrier.  Yay me.  Not only was I not crazy about the cat to begin with but he either vomited or had diarrhea in his tiny cardboard carrier while on the way home (that was a fun smelling car ride).  Once we got back to the apartment, I let vomit/diarrhea covered cat out of his tiny carrier and tried to softly and calmly talk to him to get him to interact with me so I could ease his nerves.  All the cat wanted to do was hide under something.  Under anything.  I remember texting my husband: "I do not like this cat.  He is covered in either vomit/diarrhea from the car ride and all he wants to do is hide.  This cat sucks.  You are bathing him when you get home."

Kramer has been with us for over 5 years now and I LOVE HIM!  He really is a super sweet cat.  Strange, but sweet.  It makes me smile to think how he came into this family but I am so happy he is here -- with us!
