Augusta

Name: Augusta
Nicknames: Sweet Boy, Sweetheart, and Handsome Boy
(Here's a video of just how sweet I am.  I love my sister, Abbie.)

Breed: Momma and Daddy only know that my mommy is a Calico...my birth daddy surely had some orange in him.
Age: 1 year (Birthday: March 22, 2012)
Favorite Activity: Snuggling up with a snuggle partner and sleeping.
Favorite Thing: My little kitten rattle that use to be Sydney's until Mommy replaced the pink fabric with an ACU covering - much better for a boy.
Ideal Day: Having my favorite (Boston) snuggle and bathe me, eating as much raw chicken as I please, and watching the birds and other creatures out the window.
Least Favorite Thing: When others don't return my loving.
Bad Habit: I get too excited when Mommy cuts up my chicken and sometimes (okay, maybe most times) I forget that I am not allowed to jump on the kitchen counters.
Quirk:  Ties in with my least favorite... Normally it is Kramer who doesn't return my love.  I try to rub up against him but he just awkwardly freaks out and tries to get away.  This is bewildering to me so I trot (literally) after him trying to do it again.  If he doesn't receive it then I look at him with a strange expression and lightly bop him on the top of his head.
Interesting Fact About Me:  I nursed on my momma (Sarah) for about 8 months (even though Sarah was spayed after those initial 3ish months).

This is the last video taken of me using Sarah as a paci.

History of me pre-forever home (Mom's story): Apparently a family on post had moved and purposely left their pregnant cat behind.  The cat had her babies: all 5.  A neighbor had seen/understood the whole situation and took them in for a few days.  Later they took the momma and her 5 fresh kittens to the pound.  I was one of those 5 kittens.

While in Foster Care:  I was the only kitten out of the five that did not have any serious health issues.  Mommy said I was the poster kitten for health.

Here are some pictures of me as a tiny kitten.

How I became a part of the family:
(Mommy's snippet) I work a little with an animal rescue.  My main rescue contact is a friend of mine.  We were hanging out one day when she got a phone call from the humane society saying they had just gotten a momma and her litter and asked if we had the room and willingness to take them.  She looked at me and I said, "of course!"  I was so excited to foster a momma and her litter!
(My side) My mommy knew she wanted to keep my brother Griffin and she and Daddy had been discussing keep be, as well.  When Griffin died, Mommy was so very sad.  She and Daddy decided they would definitely keep me now and also one of my sisters.
