Horatio

Name:  Horatio
Nickname: Little Terror
Breed: All Mommy and Daddy know is that I'm a Tabby DSH (Domestic Short Hair)
Age: 1 year (estimated birthday around March/April 2012)
Rank in Household: Alpha Kitty
Favorite Activity: Roughhousing with my best bud, Nigel.  I also like to cuddle and love bite my girlfriend, Kylee.

Favorite Thing: Cotton.  Mommy has to hide all the cotton balls because I love them so much.  Q-tips... I get these like "treats" when Mommy takes a shower.  They are awesome.  Mommy and Daddy think it's kind of gross though because then there are gnawed on, gross looking Q-tips just scattered throughout the house.
My Ideal Day: Have free-roam of everything (and everyone) in the house and no one tells me "no."
Least Favorite Thing: Being gotten on to.  I know when I'm being bad... so I run and hide from Mommy or Daddy.  I also sometimes am really bad and hit or hiss at Mommy or Daddy when they try to tell me "no" when I've been really mean to one of my kitty siblings.
Bad Habit: Mommy and Daddy would, no doubt, wittingly comment "Where do I start?" with this section.  I guess the worst of my bad habits is probably what Mommy and Daddy have described as my 'blood lust.'  I get these moments where I basically hunt after other kitties... mostly Kramer.  Kramer freaks out and squeals like a little piggy... which, let's just be honest, makes me want to chase after him even more.
QuirkI like bags that I can see in to (like zip-lock bags or cotton ball bags).  If Mommy forgets to put the cotton ball bag or anything she put in a zip-lock bag away, I will tackle it, bite it, and drag it throughout the house.  (See picture below as a demonstration of my conquering.)

Mommy Only Favs: Mommy and I like to start the dishwasher together and wait until we hear the water start pumping through the machine.  I like to get all wrapped up in a blanket and sleep on Mommy's lap.  I also like to nurse on Mommy's shirt collar when I'm really needy and want to go to sleep.  I use to only nurse on Daddy (see video below) but when he had to move away for a job, I was forced to nurse on Mommy... and I just have continued that every since.

Daddy Only Fav: Daddy has a special way of holding me and letting me play with ceiling fan switches.  (See video below.)

Fun Fact About Me: When I first came to my forever home, I was scared to death of all my toys!  Especially if they made any noise!  So my favorite toy for a while was socks.  (See pictures below.)

My history pre-forever home: I was found wandering around a park as a single kitten.  The people their called animal control on me and I was sent away to a very high-kill shelter where I was immediately put on death row.
(Mommy's add-in story)  He had a mark/scab on his nose that indicated he had previously been hurt.  We are uncertain as to what caused it... our best guess is he might have been injured by a car or almost injured by one because he was absolutely terrified of the sound of a car.
(Pictures of me as a little kitten)

How I became a part of the family: Thankfully Mommy was a part of a rescue organization that had access to see pictures of animals like me on death row at this high-kill shelter.  They took a complete gamble on me (didn't know if I had HIV/FeLV or anything else) and committed to adopt me just from a single picture.  They said it was so hard... there were many lonely, scared faces that needed saving.  When they first were able to come visit me they told me they were speechless with how incredible adorable they thought I was.  After I got neutered they were able to take me home.  I got really sick at first with a bad URI (upper respiratory infection)... Mommy and Daddy got very scared at one point but thankfully with one specific medicine, I was finally on the mend!  It took a while for me to integrate with the whole family.  I was a single kitten for so long.  I had horrid social skills.  But over time, I learned, and became another vital part of this family.
Here's a video of me getting to know a few of the fluffy family members.
